Liverpool defender Daniel Agger says he "can't imagine" playing for any other club in England but admits his future may be taken out of his hands if a big offer comes in.

Red boss Brendan Rodgers admitted last week that the Reds would likely allow the Denmark international to leave were a "massive bid" to be tabled.

Agger has two years left on his Anfield contract and is a reported target for Barclays Premier League champions Manchester City, but he is in no hurry to end his time at Liverpool.

"I'd rather stay," Agger told Danish website politiken.dk. "I can't imagine playing for any other club in England but you never know if the club think it's better to sell.

"I'd rather stay but that decision is not up to me at the moment.

"Liverpool can do a deal even though I have two years on my contract, but I haven't changed my mind on the subject.

"Sometimes you can end up in a position where it's not your decision.

"I don't want to be somewhere I am not wanted but I would prefer if they want me to stay. That is my priority."
