Pep Guardiola plans to make a move for Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos and Barcelona’s Luis Suarez as Manchester City look to build a Premier League winning side, according to reports.

The new City boss has already made two big signings so far, having brought in Spain’s Nolito for £13.5m and Germany’s Ilkay Gundogan for £21m.

But City’s signings have been overshadowed by the recent confirmation that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be making his way to Manchester United in what has to be the biggest deal of the summer so far.

In light of the Zlatan signing City are keen to bring in their own ‘Galaticos’ to rival United, the Mirror reports.

Guardiola will certainly face a challenge in luring Kroos and Suarez away from arguably the two biggest clubs in Europe though.

Kroos still has four years left on his contract at Madrid, which has a reported £63m release clause, and the German midfielder is believed to be content with life in Spain.

Nonetheless, City fans will be comforted by the fact that the German spent a year working with Guardiola at Bayern Munich – before he was sold to Madrid in 2014 – and is allegedly interested in a potential reunion with his old coach.

As a player who has already proved himself in both the La Liga and Bundesliga, the appeal of the Premier League may also aide City’s cause.

Guardiola is also keen to prise former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez from Barcelona in a deal worth around £85m.

After enjoying a stellar season with Barcelona, in which he scored an incredible 59 goals in 53 appearances, it remains unclear whether or not the Uruguayan forward could be tempted to return to the Premier League.

The City manager may fancy his chances though on account of his brother Pere who represents the Barcelona striker.

Although City have started the transfer window well, it seems Pep has his eyes set on bigger prizes.
