Manchester United are on the verge of sealing a permanent deal for Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace for an initial fee of £45m, which could rise to £50m with add-ons.

The defender is in Manchester today to complete his medical and is expected to be announced as a United player imminently, following weeks of negotiations between the two clubs.

As Wan-Bissaka arrives, Romelu Lukaku could be set to depart Old Trafford. The Belgium international is one of Antonio Conte’s top priorities since becoming head coach at Inter Milan, and the club are exploring a one-year loan deal followed by a permanent deal totalling £62m, according to the Guardian.

United are pulling out of the race to sign Harry Maguire, reports The Mirror, with Leicester putting a £100m pricetag on his sizeable forehead, and instead have turned their attentions to Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona do not want to sell Umtiti, but that United have enquired anyway as they look to tighten a leaky defence.

Meanwhile Burno Fernandes’s representatives have met Old Trafford officials to discuss a potential £70m switch from Sporting, according to O Jogo in his native Portugal.

Fernandes scored 32 goals and made 18 assists last season from an attacking midfield role and would fill Paul Pogba’s shoes should the French international depart this summer.
