At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Jurgen Klopp is a keen admirer of the 29-year-old Bayern midfielder and Thiago himself is known to favour a move to Anfield. However, ESPN report that Liverpool will not stump up Bayern’s €30m asking price if Wijnaldum decides to see out the last year of his contract. Talks between the Dutch midfielder’s representatives and Liverpool are said to have made little progress, with new Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman keen to bring Wijnaldum to the Camp Nou on a free transfer next summer.
Elsewhere, The Sun claim that the Reds are preparing a £40m bid for Watford winger Ismaila Sarr, with the Senegal international set to leave Vicarage Road this summer. Sarr became Watford’s club-record signing last year and the Hornets are determined not to let him go for a reduced price. Sarr, who is a friend of Liverpool winger Sadio Mane, scored twice in Watford’s shock victory over Liverpool last season.
Reports in Spain claim Sadio Mane is “excited” by the prospect of moving to Barcelona, with the Spanish giants identifying the Liverpool winger as a replacement for Lionel Messi. Mundo Deportivo believe Liverpool would demand £90m for the 28-year-old, who has three years remaining on his contract on Merseyside.
Curtis Jones is set to remain within the club’s first-team plans this season. However, Rhian Brewster continues to attract Premier League loan interest, with a host of clubs said to be competing for the 20-year-old’s striker signature. Brewster scored 11 goals in 22 appearances for Swansea City last season and Klopp admitted prior to the Community Shield defeat that the starlet’s future was undecided.
“In the moment, he is [part of the plan now]. We will have to see what will happen in the next few weeks or so,” Klopp said. “We want to use Rhian and want to help Rhian as well, so that’s why we have to make decisions, but not now.”
