The 26-year-old striker was left out of the starting line-up for Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur after questioning Jürgen Klopp's use of him as a wide player.
Sturridge was later captured looking disgruntled by television cameras after fellow substitute Divock Origi was brought on before him at White Hart Lane.
A screenshot of the former Manchester City and Chelsea player’s expression was shared widely on social media after the game, as questions over Sturridge’s future abounded.
Sturridge, however, has appeared to dismiss such speculation by posting a picture of his 'death stare' to his own Instagram account.
The England international shared the image with the message: “Caption this?”, then adding a ‘cry laugh’ emoji.
Klopp defended his decision to leave Sturridge out of the starting line-up following Saturday’s draw and insisted that his striker had a future at Anfield.
"Daniel Sturridge is a wonderfully skilled player, but I made the decision based on the kind of defending that was important for Tottenham," Klopp said.
"When we last played Tottenham, at home, he had an outstanding game. But I can only pick 11 players to start and I never make a decision like this against one player.
"I'm really happy that we have him,” he added. “He will play and he will score and all will be good.”
Despite only being used as a 85th-miniute substitute against Tottenham, Sturridge was selected in Sam Allardyce’s first England squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Slovakia.
