With Steven Gerrard set to leave for the MLS at the end of the season the Reds are on the hunt for a replacement. Apparently Stindl is an option but his current club Hannover have told them to forget about it. The Bundesliga club's president Martin Kind told Bild: "In any eventuality, we will not let him go this winter".
Brendan Rodgers has stated that he's not expecting any business at Anfield before the deadline however Ezequiel Lavezzi continues to be linked with a move to Mersyside. PSG manager Laurent Blanc is more than happy to let the Argentina international move on and would accept around £14m for the winger. Among those that were thought to be interested were Napoli, but the Serie A side's sporting director Riccardo Bigon has played down their interest and with it boosted Liverpool's chances of securing a deal.
Rickie Lambert continues to be linked with a move away from Anfield today and it's suggested by the Daily Star that it could happen with Andre-Pierre Gignac coming in to replace him. The France international has been in sensational form this season with 14 goals in 23 appearances for Marseille, leading to speculation the 29-year-old could move on. Arsenal are also reportedly keen on the the striker.
A last minute move for Asier Illarramendi could still be on. It was reported yesterday that Rodgers was going to seek the advice of former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso before an £18m offer is made for the Real Madrid midfielder. Rodgers is keen on bringing the 24-year-old to Anfield but wants the view of his former team-mate before firming up that interest according to Spanish newspaper El Confidencial.
