The 19-year-old forward was signed for £10m over the summer but was immediately loaned back to the French club for the season, however with Liverpool in dire need of more fire-power to boost their chances of European qualification, they want Origi now. To break his current agreement will cost Liverpool £3m according to the Liverpool Echo.
Origi, who impressed with Belgium at the 2014 World Cup, has scored five times in 26 appearances this season.
As well as recalling Origi, Liverpool also continue to be linked with West Brom striker Saido Berahino. Despite the Baggies insisting they won't sell the 21-year-old, rumours refuse to disappear. According to The Sun a serious move for the striker, who scored four goals in the FA Cup at the weekend, will be made once Fabio Borini has been offloaded.
Another player persistently linked with a switch to Liverpool is Xherdan Shaqiri. According to a report today from The Mirror, Rodgers has launched a £10m bid for the Bayern Munich midfielder. The Switzerland international is seen as a possible successor to Steven Gerrard.
IT'S NOT ABOUT THE MONEY...
Gerrard turned down an offer of £18m to go and play in Qatar it's claimed. The Liverpool captain has confirmed he will leave Anfield in the summer but his destination will by the USA.
POSSIBLE EXIT...
Real Madrid continue to be linked with a move for Raheem Sterling, despite Rodgers expressing confidence that the youngster will remain at Anfield. The reigning Champions League holders will come in with a bid of £35m in the summer, according to the Daily Star. Sterling will also see his wages doubled at the Bernabeu.
