Roma sporting director Monchi has comprehensively ruled out goalkeeper Alisson leaving the club this summer.

The Brazilian number one has been linked with a transfer to Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp particularly keen on signing the keeper.

But 49-year-old Monchi, who used to play as a goalkeeper for Sevilla, has joked that Alisson will only leave the club if he decides to come out of retirement.

“Alisson? If he leaves, it's just because I've gone back to being a goalkeeper,” Monchi joked. “This is the only way he'll leave, but I don't know if I'm ready to play again.”

Monchi also insisted that striker Edin Dzeko will not leave the club after scoring an impressive 24 goals in all competitions this season.

“He'll stay with us,” Monchi added.

“I expect him to have a similar next season to this one. We all want him to stay.”
