From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Serbia youngster Darko Lazovic has been tipped to join Tottenham after a trial at White Hart Lane last month.

The 18-year-old playmaker, who has made his senior international debut, is at FK Borac Cacak and is thought to be valued at around £500,000.

Borac coach Ljubisa Dmitrovic said: "As far as I know, he got the thumbs up in Tottenham and at the moment he is the one to decide what would be the best for him at this stage."

Lazovic added: "I will wait in order to decide what is best for me."

Meanwhile, Real Madrid forward Raul has revealed how he talked about the Premier League with Juande Ramos while his current boss was at White Hart Lane.

The 31-year-old Raul, the top scorer in Madrid's history, told Digital Plus: "Four months ago, Juande and I had a meal with Gines Carvajal, who is our agent and a friend of mine.

"They called me because I like English football and I wanted Juande to tell me about his experience of Tottenham and of the Premier League.

"He is a football man and speaking with him is a pleasure."

Jamie O'Hara and Ledley King are unlikely to feature in Spurs' Uefa Cup clash against Shakhtar Donetsk this week in Ukraine. Vedran Corluka, Robbie Keane and Roman Pavlyuchenko are cup-tied.
