Here is the roundup of the latest stories:
Arsenal
In particular, Arsenal are persisting with a loan deal to bring Denis Suarez to the club from Barcelona, as first revealed by The Independent in December. The Catalan giants had been insistent on any transfer for the 25-year-old including an obligation to buy, but have reportedly budged on that position and the Suarez is set to arrive in London today for his medical.
The Gunners are also reportedly looking at former Atletico Madrid midfielder Yannick Carrasco, with Inter Milan refusing to sanction the departure of Ivan Perisic on loan. The Belgian winger is currently playing at Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang, but is keen to return to Europe.
A deal for PSG midfielder Christon Nkunku however does now look dead in the water after the player’s agent, José-Pierre Fanfan, told French television channel Canal+: “I am here [in the studio] tonight, which is not a good sign.”
Chelsea
Chelsea have batted back approaches for out-of-favour centre-back Andreas Christensen. The Sun reported that Juventus and Borussia Dortmund have both made approaches for the 22-year-old, who could still depart the club before the end of the window.
The club are adamant however that teenage starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi will not leave this window.
The Blues are unlikely to pursue any further targets after PSG confirmed the signing of Leandro Paredes, who was touted as a potential replacement for Cesc Fabregas.
Manchester United
Marouane Fellaini‘s move to Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng is nearing confirmation, according to the Daily Mail. The Belgian midfielder has played just half-an-hour of football since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s arrival and is closed to signing a three-year deal worth £235,000 per week.
Meanwhile, protracted negotiations over Anthony Martial’s new contract are set to draw to an end as the Frenchman agrees to a new five-year deal.
Leicester
Leicester are on the verge of securing a swap deal with Monaco, which would see Youri Tielemans arrive at the club and Adrien Silva move in the opposite direction.
Leonardo Jardim, who has returned to the struggling French side in place of Thierry Henry, reportedly fell out with Tielemans before his departure in October.
Done deal
Huddersfield have confirmed the singing of Karlan Grant on a three-and-a-half year contract. The 21-year-old Charlton striker joins Jan Siewert’s Terriers for an undisclosed fee.
