Monaco teenager Kylian Mbappe has warned Manchester United and Real Madrid that he will only join a club who will guarantee him regular playing time next season.

The 18-year-old is one of the hottest properties in Europe at the moment after firing Monaco to the Ligue 1 title and the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Mbappe has only two years remaining on his current contract and after scoring 26 goals in all competitions he is wanted by Real and United, as well as the rest of Europe’s top clubs.

However, he has stressed that he is looking to develop as a striker and it will be playing time, rather than money, which will be one of the key factors in his decision.

“I’ll be the only one who decides, along with my family. No one will decide for me. I won’t go anywhere where I have been told to go. It’ll be my choice, and I’ll back that choice,” Mbappe told beIN Sports.

“All I want to do is play. I’m at an age where I have to play. I’m not 35 or 36 years old towards the end of my career or where I have to be careful.

“I’m at an age where I have just started, I still have everything to prove.

“This year has been a year of ‘discovery,’ but the year coming up is one of confirmation. Once you have taken that step, there aren’t a billion steps left to take.

“This step is really important, and I will take the time to do it well and try to do it as quickly as possible.”
