Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Sevilla have made an enquiry about Manchester United's £8m-rated striker Javier Hernandez.
The Mexico forward has been linked with Liverpool, West Ham, and Orlando this summer, and the Daily Mail report that Sevilla are preparing to make a bid.
Hernandez, who has one year left on his contract at Old Trafford, is currently sidelined with a broke collarbone.
The 27-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Spanish giants Real Madrid, does not feature in Louis van Gaal's plans at United.
Hernandez broke his collarbone while playing for for Mexico against Honduras on 2 July, and has since had surgery.
"Javier Hernandez underwent a successful operation this morning," Mexico team doctor Gerargo Aguiar said in a statement. "He had two plates inserted in his right collarbone fixed with six screws.
"The prognosis is quite acceptable with good expectations for a quick recovery (period) which we hope will be in four weeks."
He scored 59 goals in 154 appearances for United since moving from Guadalajar in 2010.
