Harry Kane to Manchester United: Tottenham striker 'flattered' by interest but insists he is not leaving Spurs

England Under-21 striker allied any fears that he is leaving White Hart Lane by stressing his happiness at Spurs

Harry Kane has admitted that he is "flattered" to be linked with a move to Manchester United, but insists he is "happy" at Tottenham and has ruled out a transfer this summer.

The Spurs forward was speaking after England Under-21s disappointing 1-0 defeat to Portugal in the European Under-21 Championships, where a Joao Mario goal was enough to condemn Gareth Southgate’s side to the worst possible start to their campaign in the Czezch Republic.

Kane has already enjoyed a breakthrough season that saw him net 31 goals for Spurs as well as score seconds into his England debut, and the 21-year-old made himself available for Southgate’s squad ahead of the summer tournament.

However, reports have linked Kane with a big-money move to United with the Red Devils claimed to be willing to pay as much as £40m to sign him this summer, but Spurs are determined not to sell their standout player from last season and will price him out of the market at around £70m.

Kane spoke out yesterday to address those reports, and while he acknowledged that any interest from a club such as United is an honour to receive, he calmed fears among the White Hart Lane faithful by stressing he’s going nowhere.

"Of course I have been watching Sky Sports and have seen the interest,” Kane said in an interview with, unsurprisingly, Sky Sports News.

"But I am happy at Spurs and I look forward to the future with Spurs. I have seen there is interest but that's all I know. It is flattering for other clubs to maybe be interested."

He added: "Tottenham are a big club and that's how people have got to see it. I'm at a big club now and enjoying my football looking forward to next season at White Hart Lane."
