Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of winger Georges-Kévin N'Koudou from Marseille - after teasing their supporters on Twitter.

The 21-year-old joins fellow new signings Vincent Janssen, Victor Wanyama and Juan Verlasco at White Hart Lane after agreeing terms with Mauricio Pochettino’s men with just under four hours remaining on transfer deadline day.

N'Koudou was pictured in Tottenham training wear this week and his arrival means Clinton N’Jie will go in the opposite direction, joining the Ligue 1 club on a season-long loan as part of the agreement.

The north London has baited their supporters all day before a video carrying the caption 'Once upon a time...' was posted early on Wednesday evening.

The montage of previous tweets concerning the transfer, including a reference to fans continually changing N'Koudou's Wikipedia page, received almost 3,000 retweets before the confirmation.

The winger said: "I’m really delighted to sign for this team. It’s a really great English club with a lot of ambition, which why I have moved here.

"I always dreamed of playing in England and I watched a lot of Premier League football last year, including Tottenham games. That's what attracted me.

"It’s true that I watched many Premier League games when I was a child as well and I remember a few players that made me want to come here – Gareth Bale for instance, who has played here. There was also Cristiano Ronaldo when he was playing for Manchester United.

"They inspired me because they play the way I like to – they like to challenge defenders, to dribble. I can’t wait to get started with the Premier League and the English game. It suits my playing style, it’s explosive. Everyone knows I’m fast, I like to dribble around players, so the English league is best for me."
