Everton are closing in on the signing of Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha before Thursday's transfer deadline.

The Ivory Coast international has been desperate to engineer a move away from Selhurst Park all summer long and had his heart set on a switch to Arsenal.

But with the Gunners instead opting for a club-record deal for Lille winger Nicolas Pepe, Zaha's options have shrunk leaving the way clear for the Toffees.

The Independent understands they are willing to meet Palace's £65m asking price with the structure of the offer the only aspect now being ironed out.

Zaha for his part now expects to move to Goodison Park before the window shuts at 5pm on Thursday.

Everton remain interested in Watford's Abdoulaye Doucoure and are ramping up the pressure on the Hornets to sell.

Silva is keen to add another central midfield player despite securing the services of Andre Gomes and Jean-Philippe Gbamin already this offseason.

French outlets RMC and L'Equipe both report that Everton have followed up their initial €32m offer with an improved bid of €40m.

If that is unsuccessful they report they will continue to push with a further bid before the deadline.

Everton aren't stopping there with a move for Monaco right back Djibril Sidibe likely in the coming days.

The French international is available this summer with Silva particularly keen on the deal.

L'Equipe report that Sidibe will move on an initial loan deal with the option to buy for £15m next summer.

Sidibe will provide competition for Seamus Coleman on the right side of defence with Jonjoe Kenny on loan at Schalke.

That move could be helped with the two clubs already in talks over youngster Henry Onyekuru.

The young Nigerian hasn't been able to break into the first team and after spells away on loan is set to leave permanently.

The two clubs are said to have agreed a fee in the region of €13m.

But according to RMC the move is being held up over visa issues.

Both clubs still expect the move to go through in time, however.
