Crystal Palace are braced for their fifth departure of the January transfer window, with Jairo Riedewald keen on a move to Celta Vigo and the south London club unlikely to stand in his way.

Riedewald was one of Europe's hottest young talents as a teenager and signed for Palace when Frank de Boer took over at Selhurst Park . But when De Boer's reign ended abruptly after just four games in charge , Riedewald's first-team opportunities became few and far between and he has been limited to only cup appearances this season.

The versatile Dutchman can play in defence or midfield but never appeared to convince Roy Hodgson of his value and will likely leave the Premier League this month, becoming the fifth player that Palace have shed from the wage bill during January.

Jordon Mutch and Jonny Williams both left the club permanently while Jason Puncheon and Alexander Sorloth have gone out on loan.

Palace entered the month looking for a striker but deals to bring in Dominic Solanke and Michy Batshuayi on loan both failed to come to fruition. Hodgson preferred Solanke and wouldn't guarantee Batshuayi the playing time that the player and Chelsea wanted, but the club didn't want to match what Bournemouth were ready to pay for the injury-prone Liverpool youngster.

Their first foray into the market, however, is likely to be the loan signing of Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Perri.

First-choice keeper Vicente Guaita is injured, suffering a calf strain and having to be substituted during Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Watford . His replacement Wayne Hennessey, who was partly responsible for the goals in Watford's comeback, also picked up a muscular problem in his quadricep, forcing Palace into the loan market.

It will likely mean veteran Julian Speroni, in his 15th season with the club, playing against Liverpool this weekend but Perri, 21, could then challenge him for the gloves.

Perri, who plays for Sao Paulo, will join with a view to a permanent summer move that a Palace source described as "eminently affordable". The Guardian have reported it to be in the region of £3.3m.
