On Bale alert...

Chelsea will have to bid more than Manchester United's reported £117m bid to sign Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale in this transfer window, according to the Daily Star. United have been heavily linked with an incredible world-record move for the Welshman, who was recently subject of boos from the Bernabeu faithful.

His team-mate, Cristiano Ronaldo, even had to plead with the home support to "be nice to Gaz", who joined for a world-record £86m from Tottenham in the summer of 2013.

In addition to Bale, the Blues are also monitoring the situation surrounding Bastian Schweinsteiger, according to the Express. The Bayern Munich midfielder is out of contract in 18 months, and is yet to sign a new deal.

Schweinsteiger told Kicker: "I am in no hurry to renew. It's not something that bothers me because I have a year before it expires. The important thing is that my physical problems and injuries are resolved. The rest will follow."

Turkish delight for Blues pair?

Nathan Ake and Mohamed Salah have been linked with a double loan deal move to Turkish side Besiktas for the remainder of the season, according to the Telegraph.

The 19-year-old defender, Ake, has yet to make a Premier League appearance for the club this season, while Salah has has failed to make an impact since his £11m move from Basel in January 2014, making only 18 appearances in all competitions.
