Despite Real Madrid’s insistence that Alvaro Morata is not up for sale, Chelsea are still allegedly chasing down the player. The Blues have been in touch with the La Liga giants and, according to Marca, have already made a €60m offer for the Spaniard.

However, the report suggests that Morata is seeking assurances from his club that he will feature regularly for Madrid which could imply that the 23-year-old would like to stay put at the Bernabeu.

Chelsea’s hopes of signing Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez have been dealt a major blow after Claudio Ranieri confirmed that the Algerian is happy to remain at the King Power Stadium. The 25-year-old is being monitored by a number of clubs, including the Blues, Arsenal and Barcelona, but Ranieri revealed last evening that Mahrez “wants to stay”.

In other news, the club have reportedly threatened to report Atletico Madrid to Fifa over their pursuit of striker Diego Costa. Chelsea are not happy with the Spanish club’s conduct and, according to the Sun, have written a second complaint to Atletico about multiple reports in Spain that suggest Costa will be sold.

Loic Remy is another Chelsea forward who could be on his way out. Turkish side Besiktas will target the 29-year-old should they fail to sign Mario Gomez on a permanent basis, the Evening Standard reports.

Germany’s Gomez was loaned to Besiktas from Fiorentina last season but the two clubs have yet to agree a transfer fee. Should the deal fall through the Istanbul club could turn their attention to Remy.

And more bad news for Antonio Conte. It seems Manchester City are closing in on Chelsea target Leonardo Bonucci in a deal expected to be worth around £50m. According to the Daily Mirror, Juventus are prepared to let the Italian centre-half leave for City while Bonucci himself prefers the move to the Etihad on account of the opportunity to work with Pep Guardiola.
