CHELSEA BOUND...

Juan Cuadrado will have his medical at Stamford Bridge on Saturday ahead of a £26.1million move from Fiorentina.

According to the Evening Standard, the timing of the deal will mean that the Colombian winger will not be registered in time to face Manchester City on Saturday evening.

The 26-year-old has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea. The Blues hierarchy had originally been unwilling to meet the £26.1m fee before Jose Mourinho urged them to reconsider. The two clubs have struck a deal that will pay Fiorentina £23.3m with Egyptian misfit Mohamed Salah will be heading back the other way to Fiorentina for an 18-month loan deal - Chelsea have not charged a fee for the move.

The arrival of Cuadrado also signals the end of Andre Schurrle's Chelsea career, the German winger is set to join Wolfsburg for £27m.

Chelsea originally wanted £30m for the World Cup winner but settled for the reduced fee, that is said to include add-ons, with the German club initially bidding £23.5m.

Schurrle, 24, is expected to travel to Germany today to undergo a medical of his own.

Schurrle's agent Ingo Haspel told Germany's SID agency "should go through on Friday."

"There are still a few things to discuss, but we're no longer talking about figures," Haspel added. "The fact is, all of the required signatures are still lacking," Wolfsburg director of sport Klaus Allofs told ARD television.

"No contract has been signed and I'm a bit old-fashioned and there are still some obstacles to get round. The ink is not yet dry."

Mourinho is reported to be looking to spend big in the summer, the shock defeat to Bradford City in the FA Cup last week sparking the need for reinforcements.

Chelsea are one of a number of clubs on red alert after Paul Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola said the Juventus midfielder would leave the club in the next 18 months.

"If it does not happen this year, it will be next year," he told Gazzetta dello Sport. "I want the club that buys him to believe in him and be willing to pay for him. If Paul leaves Juventus, it is for the absolute top."
