It would seem that Ashley Cole will not be at Chelsea next season, with the defender tweeting on Sunday how he believes his future lies elsewhere.

Cole, 33, was a bit part player under Jose Mourinho last season but did improve and get more games towards the end of the year but it was not enough to make England’s World Cup squad.

With a lot of talk about his future at the club, it would seem Cole has now put to bed any speculations by saying ‘it does not look like’ he will remain a Blue.

In a series of emotional tweets, Cole went on to thank all his fans, staff and teammates.

He posted: “I am weighing up my options for playing next season with my agent and sadly it does not look like Chelsea will be one of them.

“Thank u Chelsea FC for making my 8 years there a pleasure to work all the staff and players, we've been through a lot, good and bad.

“And of course the fans, how do I start, I can only say thank u for giving the boys confidence to win some amazing trophies, and once again.

Cole was in tears after Chelsea’s last game of the season and is out of contract this summer.

There has already been plenty of reported interest in the left-back with top clubs from across Europe allegedly readying offers.

Real Madrid, Monaco and LA Galaxy are all said to be looking at the ex-England defender while Liverpool and both Manchester clubs are also reportedly interested.

Despite Cole’s emotional farewell to Stamford Bridge, it would seem he’ll have no shortage of options when he leaves in a few weeks.
