The combative midfielder, who is currently serving a two-match ban following his red card in last weekend’s away defeat at Norwich City, has been repeatedly linked to some of the league’s top clubs.
Arsenal and Manchester United have both been mooted as potential destination for the Kenya international and, according to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur have continue to monitor the player.
Wanyama agitated for a move to White Hart Lane last summer and handed in a transfer request but manager Ronald Koeman stood firm against the 24-year-old’s demands.
The Dutchman, whose side have won just once in their last eight league games, has warned his players that any who try to chase a move away from the St Mary’s will be dropped from the first team.
"The players know their position in the club and what we think of the players, I don't have doubt about that," he said.
"If there is any player who thinks if his behaviour is not good that makes it easier for him, then I will put the player in the stands until the end of the contract because that's not the way you do your job as a footballer."
Wanyama’s team-mate Sadio Mane has also the subject of persistent speculation linking him with a move to United.
The club, however, remained determined to keep both players on their books past the end of the current transfer window and will only consider offers at the end of the season.
