Arsene Wenger is thought to have been a long-time admirer of the 24-year-old and could tempt him away, according to OK Diario.
Morata, who came through the Madrid academy, only rejoined the club in the summer after a successful spell at Juventus and coach Zinedine Zidane is thought to be reluctant to let him go.
Meanwhile, Wenger's interest in Andrea Belotti is likely to have wavered at the news the Torino forward will only leave if his release clause of €100m (£86m) is met.
Belotti had been linked with a €65m move to the Emirates, but the player's agent Sergio Lancini told Goal: "Many clubs are interested. €65million is not enough. His clause is €100million. That’s all I can say at the moment”.
Arsenal and Liverpool are said to have made a "concrete approach" for Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to French tabloid Le 10 Sport.
The 22-year-old midfielder is also thought to be attracting interest from Manchester City and Chelsea but the French club are rumoured to be unwilling to sell this winter.
Carl Jenkinson is being lined up as a £3m transfer by new Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce, according to The Sun.
Roma want to make goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny's move permanent and are willing to pay Arsenal £15m for the privilege, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Despite reports to the contrary yesterday, Per Mertesacker will not be allowed to leave on loan for the rest of the season, according to the Daily Mirror.
