Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has appeared to cool talk of a January exit from Arsenal.

The Gabon international striker – who has 13 Premier League goals this term – has been linked with a move away this month with only 18 months remaining on his contract at the Emirates.

The Independent understands he still has no interest in renewing terms in north London but for the time being at least he is committed to the cause.

“The English press likes to talk a lot,” he told RMC. “For now, I’m here. I’m 100 per cent here.”

The arrival of Mikel Arteta manager in place of Unai Emery appears to have significantly improved the mood of the squad, Aubameyang included.

“As soon as he (Arteta) got here, he put things on the table. He made it clear what he expected from us and that it was non-negotiable,” he added.

“Everyone has got to work. Everyone wanted to make an effort because we have pride there too. We wanted to regain the taste for victory and please our supporters.

“It’s a new year that begins. It’s good to start with a victory and hopefully that gives us strength for the future.

“We were in a hurry, we knew that we were not far from winning this match, which was going to be good for us. It’s a very good thing, we’re very happy and now we’re focused on the future.”
