From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Your support makes all the difference. For the first time in what feels like an eternity, Arsenal will head into the January transfer window without the clamour from their fans to strengthen the squad in a desperate attempt to save their season.
Despite things not going to plan in the Champions League, the Gunners are nicely poised to challenge for the Premier League title in the second half of the season. With reigning champions Chelsea falling by the wayside early on, Arsene Wenger has one less rival to worry about.
Having signed Petr Cech in the summer, there is also the fact that Arsenal don’t need another goalkeeper this winter, but there are certainly areas that they can still strengthen in.
Their midfield has been crippled by injuries throughout the first three months of the season, while the absence of Theo Walcott has once again exposed their lack of depth in attack with Olivier Giroud once again coming under fire for his ability to lead a title-chasing side.
So who could Arsenal look to sign in January?
Of course, the transfer window just doesn’t mean players come into the club, as players could find themselves on the move to pastures new. Certain players who are seeing limited first-team football could seek a transfer away from the club, while Wenger could also choose to send some out on loan.
