Arjen Robben to Manchester United: Bayern Munich winger linked with Old Trafford, but deal highly unlikely
There appear to be just too many reasons why the Netherlands international won't sign for Manchester United

Manchester United are being linked with a sensational swoop for Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben, however the likelihood of any such deal actually happening appears incredibly unlikely.
With the clock ticking on the transfer window, reports have emerged suggesting Old Trafford officials are ready to offer a whopping £73m for the winger.
The Netherlands international has long been among the best forwards in the game and would undoubtedly be a great addition to United's current options.
Speaking after the 2014 World Cup, Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal said that his compatriot "is always welcome" to join him at Old Trafford.
But there are just so many reasons why it doesn't seem likely...
His age...
Aside from the recent arrival of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Manchester United have been showing a preference for signing young players with potential - as the imminent deal for Anthony Martial and arrival of Memphis Depay demonstrate. Signing a 31-year-old with almost no re-sale value for a sum of £73m seems like madness.
Robben is happy at Bayern Munich...
When asked about the rumours of linking up with Van Gaal last summer, Robben spoke in glowing terms about the Manchester United manager. 'I have a special bond with him,' he said. 'He is the most important coach in my career'. But he followed up those comments by saying: 'It is not an option. I will stay at Bayern Munich.' That's a line he hasn't wavered from since.

He's a critical part of Pep Guardiola’s team...
Robben has been picked in every game so far this season, scoring in the German Super Cup and then again last weekend. The former Chelsea player doesn't exactly appear surplus to requirements at the Allianz Arena.
German transfer deadline...
The transfer deadline in Germany has been and gone, meaning no new players can be bought. With no option to replace Robben, why Bayern Munich would think they could afford to let him leave is tough to fathom.
