Alexis Sanchez is in Manchester to complete his move to Manchester United from Arsenal, with the transfer set to be confirmed on Monday, with his medical taking place on Sunday.

The Chilean international posted a video on his Instagram account at a private airfield where he was getting a flight from London to the north-west to complete the transfer.

Similarly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who is moving in the opposite direction as a part of the straight-swap deal, has been photographed in London and is currently understood to be undergoing his medical in north London.

Sanchez’s move is not expected to be officially announced until Monday, with the complications that have delayed the deal for nearly a week were down to the complications of the swap, as well as Mkhitaryan’s demands.

The Independent understands that all of the details on Sanchez’s side were completed by Wednesday however, and, speaking on Saturday following the 1-0 win over Burnley fc, Jose Mourinho confirmed he expected the move to be completed.

“It's so close, so close, so close that if it doesn’t happen, it’s not going to happen,” the Portuguese quipped. “I’m positive, I know my people are doing everything, absolutely everything they can, the owners with the green light, Mr [Ed] Woodward working hard, everybody is giving everything they can, and I think they will be successful.”

Sanchez will wear the No 7 shirt at Old Trafford once the transfer is officially confirmed and he could make his debut in the FA Cup against Yeovil on Friday night.
