Your support makes all the difference.Alexis Sanchez has "liked" a tweet suggesting he will stay at Arsenal despite rumours of a transfer deadline day move to Manchester City or Barcelona.
The 28-year-old has stalled on a new contract and cut a frustrated figure for large parts of last season as Arsenal struggled to a fifth-placed finish.
Nevertheless, with the club refusing to let him go on the cheap this summer and fans clamouring for their star player to stay, it looks as though Sanchez's future remains in north London - at least for now.
On Thursday afternoon, Sanchez added to that feeling by liking a tongue-in-cheek tweet which read: "BREAKING: Alexis Sanchez is staying at Arsenal."
The original tweet was in response to one fan who had made a music video imploring the Chilean to stay.
Last week manager Arsene Wenger claimed Sanchez "deepy loved" Arsenal and was prepared to stay this season.
“I think what is good is our mutual interest is that he does well for us,” Wenger said.
“His interest is to do well. On top of that I deeply feel that he loves to be here and he loves the club and he arrives at a stage of 28, 29 and looks at the quality of his contract but I think he deeply loves to be here.
Look, in a professional job I always think that you have to make sure with your commitment that the guy who pays you gets what he is paying you for.
"Alexis is in that mode and I think he will be until the last day he is here, he will give his best."
City are nevertheless preparing a bid of £70m and have sent medical and legal staff to Chile, where Sanchez is away on international duty, in the hope they can clinch a deal.
