Manchester City have submitted a second bid for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.

The total amount offered is yet to be confirmed but is believed to be in the region of £60m. It is a cash-only offer, with no scope for exchange of players.

City saw a £50m offer for the Chilean forward rejected on Tuesday night and now await Arsenal's response to their second bid.

Whether Arsenal sanction the sale or not will depend largely on whether they can sign an alternative before Thursday's 11.00pm BST deadline.

Thomas Lemar, the subject of several bids from Liverpool in the past few days, is reportedly a target.

Sanchez is currently on international duty with Chile ahead of his national team's World Cup qualifier against Paraguay.

A City delegation of legal and medical officials are in South America, ready to carry out the necessary formalities should Arsenal allow Sanchez to leave.
