Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj has joined Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 20-year-old Belgium international had been expected to be loaned out this season having failed to become a regular starter under Louis van Gaal.

Januzaj tweeted a picture of himself holding a Dortmund shirt and said: "Pleased to sign for Dortmund ! Looking forward to new season".

The picture suggests Januzaj will wear the No 9 jersey at Dortmund, indicating he could be in line to play a central role for the German side this season.

"Adnan is a high quality and versatile player who complements our attack," Dortmund sports director Michael Zorc said.

Despite struggling to fit in under Van Gaal, Januzaj is one of only two Manchester United goalscorers this season, netting the winner against Aston Villa earlier this month.
