Barcelona are planning a sensational £50million move for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, according to reports this morning.

The club's transfer ban, which ends in January 2016, will not stop the Spanish champions moving for the Welshman, according to The Sun, who plan to arrange a pre-agreement with the Gunners ahead of a potential move.

Apparently Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has sent his scouts to watch the 24-year-old 10 times this season, the latest occasion at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The club will also have a scout at the FA Cup final to see Ramsey face Aston Villa.

To get round the ban Barcelona could sign him and wait to play him or send him back on loan to the Emirates until the ban is lifted.

The report states that Barca are willing to start the bidding at £50m, with Ramsey locked into a four-year, £125,000-a-week deal in north London.

Barcelona have signed eight players from Arsene Wenger since 2000, with £123m going into Arsenal's coffers.
