Tottenham vs Man City LIVE: Premier League result, final score and reaction tonight
The reigning Premier League champions face Antonio Conte’s inconsistent Spurs side
This young stadium enjoys a special moment, as Pep Guardiola endures yet another bad evening here. The Manchester City manager could only watch as his side failed to do what Harry Kane has now made historic virtue out of.
The Tottenham Hotspur legend has now become their leading goalscorer, going one better than the great Jimmy Greaves with his 267th goal for the club. It proved the only goal of an invigorating 1-0 win over the champions, as they still haven’t scored at the Spurs stadium since it was built in 2019.
That was this time without the recovering Antonio Conte present in the ground, as Guardiola’s problems only mounted. His side failed to take the chance to go within two points of Arsenal after the leaders’ loss at Everton on Saturday and that, most aggravatingly for the City manager, after his side barely mustered a chance at all.

78’ - Spurs 1-0 Man City
De Bruyne completely misses his control and Son runs through, his shot is saved by Ederson and eventually Hojbjerg swipes one wide from range.
The Belgian playmaker has had a bit of a nightmare since coming on, to tell the truth.
He and his team have about 15 minutes including stoppage time to find a way through this Spurs defence.
74’ - Spurs 1-0 Man City
Spurs still trying to find a way through for their second. Grealish looks City’s biggest threat in this second half but there’s very little service to Haaland so far.
Perisic fouls Silva and receives a booking.
70’ - Spurs 1-0 Man City
Hojbjerg lifts the ball into the net but the whistle has long gone for offside.
Alaverz spins and shoots, but over the bar at the other end, then it’s back on the attack for Spurs and Kane swipes a shot a mile wide of goal. Very ragged and bitty this game now, with more space for teams to play through but a lack of control from both.
Son then slips Kane in with a lovely deft touch and he’s free - but Ederson is out fast and blocks the shot!
66’ - Spurs 1-0 Man City
Great hit by Alvarez - Dier deflects it over! Was travelling at speed and on target, but the knee flicks it over after De Bruyne’s low free-kick pass.
Moments later Akanji wallops the ball at a defender and claims handball, not given, then De Bruyne sidefoots well wide of the far post.
City pressure really building - but then Spurs burst forward, Son feeds Perisic...and his cross just evades Kane at the far post! Lightning break, almost 2-0.
62’ - Spurs 1-0 Man City
End to end stuff but no end product. Haaland tries to burst through but Dier is on the cover, then at the other end Royal tries to spring in on goal but there’s an Ake challenge to bypass - and he can’t.
Moments later Grealish beats the Spurs wing-back and Royal brings him down, lucky not to get a booking.
58’ - Spurs 1-0 Man City
Davies rises highest at the near post off a corner - but he plants his header over Ederson’s crossbar.
Guardiola turns to his bench for the first time: De Bruyne on for Mahrez.
54’ - Spurs 1-0 Man City
Spurs camped in their own defensive third in this half so far, but standing firm to every pass and cross into the cross.
City are wide open defensively by contrast, looking to leave one vs one for the most part. Counter-attacking opportunities will certainly be there for the hosts if they can pick their moments.
50’ - Spurs 1-0 Man City
City with the early pressure in this half but unable to carve out a shooting chance so far. Grealish wins a foul but when the eventual ball comes back to him, he cannot keep the ball in play.
Kevin de Bruyne remains among those on the bench for City.
46’ - Spurs 1-0 Man City
Second half underway. Spurs going a point off fourth as it stands; City will be five behind Arsenal having played a game more.
Record-breaker Harry Kane’s six best Tottenham goals
Harry Kane moved out on his own as Tottenham Hotspur’s record goalscorer, overtaking Jimmy Greaves’ mark of 266 with the opener against Manchester City.
The England captain last month drew level with Greaves, whose tally had stood outright for more than 50 years.
Here, we take a look at some of Kane’s best efforts in a Tottenham shirt.
