Tottenham 0-2 Arsenal: Mikel Arteta’s Gunners move eight points clear at top of table with victory over Spurs
Arsenal moved eight points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table after securing their first away win in the north London derby since 2014. The Gunners started quickly and piled pressure on Antonio Conte’s Tottenham who are notoriously slow starters.
Bukayo Saka proved a dangerous threat on the right wing and gave Arsenal the lead when Hugo Lloris fumbled a fizzing cross over his own goal line. Mikel Arteta’s men continued to attack and after a couple of sighters Martin Odegaard sank one from range, beating Lloris with a low driving shot to the far bottom corner.
Spurs responded after the break with Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Ryan Sessegnon coming close but all getting denied by goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. Arsenal then settled the game down and cruised to victory in a sedate last 10 minutes.

Kulusevski’s recycled ball comes into the box but Ramsdale commandingly plucks it out of the air.

Son takes a touch and shoots but a slight deflection takes the ball over the crossbar and out for a corner.

81 mins: What can Tottenham muster in these last 10 minutes? Son Heung-min swings a free kick into the middle of the box but Aaron Ramsdale is out quick and punches the ball clear.

Odegaard jumps over the dead ball in a dummy before Xhaka smokes his shot high and wide.

He touches it to the right then blasts a shot at goal that Hugo Lloris charges down!

66 mins: Tottenham are flinging men up the pitch in an attempt to keep Arsenal penned in. It doesn’t work though as Kulusevski loses the ball allowing Partey to whip the ball over to Odegaard.
Spurs only have Romero back to defend but Odegaard can’t get the ball under control and by the time he does he’s swarmed by backtracking white shirts.
