The Scottish Football Association has agreed to move the date of the Scottish Cup semi-final between Inverness Caledonian Thistle and either Dundee or Falkirk. Supporters of the Highlands side were faced with the prospect of making a 300-mile round-trip to Glasgow on the evening of Easter Monday, 21 April.

All three clubs joined forces yesterday to lobby for a change of date and time to Easter Sunday, with a 3pm kick-off.

The SFA chief executive, David Taylor, said: "We have taken the chance to look at the situation again, to try to be fair to everyone. I have now spoken to the clubs, who are delighted with the change, and I am sure their supporters will be as well.

"Obviously, we appreciate that Sunday is Easter Day, but have chosen the new kick-off time carefully to avoid the services in local churches."
