Hutton ready for Rangers return
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Hutton was at Murray Park to launch the club's new third kit which will be worn for the first time against Dundee United on 16 October, the game he has targeted for his return to first-team action.
However, the Scotland Under-21 player admitted that his imminent comeback seemed a forlorn hope during his darker days.
He said: "That's me getting back to full training so hopefully I can get my fitness levels back up to where they were.
"Hopefully, if it goes well then I will be selected for the next game but I just need to wait and see.
"There's been a lot of ups and downs over the last months. It did cross my mind a couple of times that it could be over for me but you just have to put those thoughts out of your head and plod on.
"I was doing well then I had a setback with a muscle injury in my leg so it's really been up and down. But I'm glad that I can now push on and hopefully get back in the team."
Hutton said that the encouragement he received from the Rangers supporters during his time out of action boosted his morale.
