From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Zlatan Ibrahimovic appears to be on the verge of joining Manchester United.

The Sweden international, who is out of contract following a spell with PSG, has told the media that his mind is made up on where he will go next. That is almost certainly Old Trafford.

"The future is written," he said. "I made my choice a long time ago. I just have to push the button."

With the arrival of Ibrahimovic, Manchester United fans can look forward to goals - he's scored at a ratio better than a goal every other league game for the last 10 seasons bar one. They can also expect trophies - the 34-year-old has won the league title every year since 2001/02 except the 2002/03 Eredivisie. That's included two titles with Ajax, two with Juventus (later revoked due to match fixing), three with Inter Milan, one with Barcelona, one with AC Milan and four with PSG.

But perhaps even more fun for the Old Trafford faithful will be what comes out of Ibrahimovic's mouth. The Swede is famed for his super-sized ego and forthright views as the selection of his best quotes below demonstrate...
