Wilfried Zaha: Roy Hodgson adamant Crystal Palace star will remain at the club

The winger is a potential target for a number of top European sides

Roy Hodgson is adamant that Wilfried Zaha will not leave Crystal Palace in the summer, despite the winger’s ambitions to play in the Champions League.

Zaha is being considered as a potential target for a number of sides, however, the player still has four years remaining on his contract at Selhurst Park.

Despite the interest, the price tag and salary required to prise Zaha from the Eagles may prove a stumbling block for a number of top European sides.

“I have that old-fashioned idea that when you sign a contract, you go back after the season ends and start playing again,” Hodson said after Palace’s 0-0 draw with Everton.

“That’s the way I see it. I hope he finds good form in the last two games.”

Zaha had an off-colour game against the Toffees and Hodgson admitted the player can often be guilty of putting too much pressure upon himself.

“That pressure comes from him, not us,” Hodgson continued. ”At times we encourage him to release the ball and run off it more than run with it.”

Luka Milivojecic reiterated Hodgson’s claim, stating that “if you play for Palace, you want him [Zaha] to stay”.
