Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

West Ham have gone five matches without a win in all competitions for the first time since December 2017. Manuel Pellegrini’s side won the reverse fixture 2-0 at Craven Cottage and have a good chance of returning to winning ways against a Fulham side who total just four league wins since promotion.

The Hammers’ dip in form has coincided with Marko Arnautovic’s disagreements with the club over a transfer to China. The Austrian forward’s last goal came in a 2-2 draw with Brighton on January 2nd and he has been sidelined in favour of Javier Hernandez.

Samir Nasri and Manuel Lanzini could be involved for the hosts as they both return to training following injury.

Almost two weeks is an age without a game for Premier League sides who have not been in the best run of form, in particular Fulham, who languish eight points adrift from safety.

Claudio Ranieri’s mission to help Fulham avoid the drop looks increasingly insurmountable having gained just two wins from their previous 13 Premier League fixtures.
