Daley Blind scored a last minute winner to save Manchester United from certain defeat after Cheikhou Kouyate had taken the lead for West Ham United early in the second half.

Blind controlled the ball inside the West Ham area before curling the ball beyond Adrian to level the game at 1-1.

Luke Shaw was dismissed with seconds remaining for a horrible tackle on Stewart Downing.

Kouyate, partnered James Tomkins in the Hammers’ defence, took the lead for his side after he did brilliantly to convert Mark Noble’s free kick after 48 minutes.

West Ham were made to sweat in the final few minutes of the game as Manchester United started to push forward with Wayne Rooney being particularly effective.

Falcao should have levelled the scores when he got through one-on-one with Adrian but his effort as poor and trickled past the Spanish goalkeeper’s right post.

With ten minutes to go Adrian did exceptionally well to get down low to save a Robin van Persie shot that looked destined to send Louis van Gaal’s team back to Manchester with a point.

The Red Devils would go home happy, however, after Blind unleashed a right-footed shot to break Hammers’ hearts.
