Alan Pardew’s side now count four straight wins in the league and are now tied with Manchester United in the Premier League table.
Ayoze Perez silenced the home crowd at the Hawthorns with an amazing backheel on 45 minutes.
The home side came very close to scoring in the first half through Saido Berahino but the referee’s half time whistle found the Magpies in the lead.
Confidence was definitely not high in the Albion’s dressing room and the second half was no different as Coloccini sealed the three points on 62 minutes with a powerful header.
Both goals were created by full-back Daryl Janmaat whilst winger Sammy Ameobi hit Ben Foster’s bar.
West Brom tried to push the ball forward but never managed to threaten Tim Krul.
