Wenger: We will help Sol to bounce back
Arsène Wenger and Thierry Henry will welcome Sol Campbell back when he returns to Arsenal training this week. Campbell was given some time off for personal reasons after being substituted during the Gunners' match against West Ham United at Highbury on Wednesday when he gave a distracted performance.
"We will help Sol to bounce back quickly," Wenger said, "and to focus on football which is the best cure. I know Sol well enough to know he doesn't do what he did if he is not really down. But I had a conversation with Sol on the phone on Friday. He sounded OK and he will be back [today]. There is nothing to forgive. He was just not well and you have to accept that."
"We will welcome him back with open arms," Henry added.
Campbell's solicitor Bon Battu said that Campbell was fine. "He just felt that he needed to take stock of the situation," Battu said. "He's done that and is ready to come back. And despite all the crazy rumours, he's actually in good spirits. I have been in contact with him. He has no personal problems whatsoever."
