Dele Alli marked his return to the Tottenham Hotspur side with an outstanding overhead kick goal against Wolfsberger.

Boss Jose Mourinho rang the changes for the Europa League last-32 second-leg tie with Wolfsberger with Alli one of his fringe players handed a rare start.

Spurs were 4-1 up from the first leg so Mourinho was able to rest Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Gareth Bale, Tanguy Ndombele and Hugo Lloris.

Spurs needed just 10 minutes to go ahead and it was a brilliant moment of skill from Alli that delivered it.

A loose ball fell to him 15 yards out and with his back to goal he sent a fine bicycle kick looping into the far corner.

Alli’s moment of individual brilliance was the only shining light of an otherwise drab 45 minutes, though Spurs could have been further ahead with late chances.

The best of them fell to Carlos Vinicius just before the break but his shot was cleared off the line by Gustav Henriksson after the striker had expertly rounded the goalkeeper.
