From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

It’s a big game for…

Harry Kane: The England striker has just returned from injury and scored on his comeback in the north London derby. Spurs will need him to get back to full fitness soon as their attack has been misfiring majorly in his absence.

Best stat…

Tottenham have managed to score just three goals in their last six games in all competitions, all three of those coming from the penalty spot. They are now without a win since defeating title favourites Manchester City on October 2.

Remember when…

Spurs came from behind to beat West Ham 3-2 at Upton Park, with Gareth Bale scoring twice to extend his phenomenal scoring run to eight goals in six games. The Welshman scored a long-range winner in the last minute to give Spurs the bragging rights in the London derby.

Player to watch…

Michail Antonio: The former non-league player has been used in several different positions this season but has nevertheless contributed five goals in the league so far, three more than any of his teammates. The 25-year-old was called up to the England squad by former manager Sam Allardyce for his only match in charge against Slovakia, but did not feature.
