From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Manchester United make one change to their starting line-up for the trip to Tottenham with teenage defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah named in place of Matteo Darmian.

The match was delayed by half an hour due to the United team coach being caught up in traffic, but once they arrived it was confirmed that the 18-year-old will start at right-back in place of Italy international Darmian.

Spurs meanwhile will hope to make an immediate response to Leicester’s victory at Sunderland in the race for the Premier League title, and manager Mauricio Pochettino makes two changes with Jan Vertonghen returning after a two-and-a-half month lay-off through injury.

Vertonghen returns at the expense of Kevin Wimmer, who drops to the bench, while Erik Lamela comes back into the starting XI after he missed the 1-1 draw with Liverpool last weekend. The Argentine returns at the expense of Son Hueng-min, who drops to the substitutes’ bench.
