According to the Daily Mirror, McCarthy is disappointed for not being offered a better contract by the Toffees. Spurs are reportedly looking to take advantage and could make a £20million offer in the next few days for the Republic of Ireland international.
The 24-year-old defensive midfielder has gained 62 appearances with Everton and scored three goals in his two years at the club.
According to reports, Mirallas has greatly impressed Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino who is looking to build a strong team that could challenge the top four next season.
Greek media suggest that the Belgium international is in talks with his former club Olympiakos as he does not seem keen on staying at Goodison Park, where he has one more year left on his contract.
The forward could be very useful at White Hart Lane as he can float around in attack as well as the wings and help in the goalscoring part where Harry Kane seems as the only reliable solution.
The 27-year-old has played 88 matches for the Toffees, scoring 21 goals.
It is said that Spurs would be willing to let winger Aaron Lennon move permanently to Everton to make things easier.
