Spurs were humbled at home by the Bavarians in midweek Champions League action and were comfortably beaten by Brighton this weekend.
That defeat leaves Spurs ninth in the table, and Dier was frank about the plight the club find themselves in.
“We are obviously going through a difficult period,” said Dier. “Is saying it’s a crisis a bit too strong? No.
“If you lose like we’ve lost in these last two games, it’s normal. For us, this is the worst period we’ve been in, but we have to be all together and push through it.”
The international break comes as welcome relief for Spurs, who have won just three of their last 13 Premier League games.
Rumours of dressing room fracture and off-field tension have emerged, with rifts reported in the squad.
But Dier has suggested these rumours have been overblown, though he understands why they have surfaced.
“The stuff about the squad, I know that’s not the case.
“But it’s natural these things will come up now because of the situation we find ourselves in.
“It’s the first time that we’ve found ourselves in this position, we can’t back down from it. We’ve got to push through it.”
Tottenham resume their Premier League efforts against struggling Watford on October 19.
