After a long, long summer domestic football has finally returned and already we have seen some outstanding goals.
And, as ever, there will be some fierce competition in Europe’s top five leagues for the top goal scorer award.
Last season, a certain Lionel Messi won the Uefa Golden Shoe award for the top goal scorer across the continent, with an incredible 36 goals in just 34 La Liga matches.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe (33), Sampdoria’s Fabio Quagliarella (26) and Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski (22) picked up the top honours in Ligue 1, Serie A and the Bundesliga respectively.
