From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.QPR chairman Tony Fernandes invariably wears his heart on his sleeve, with the Malaysian often quick to criticise - or back up - his players on Twitter.
Fernandes, the director of AirAsia, was in similarly vociferous mood today, after his QPR side slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat at Chelsea that left them anchored in the Premier League relegation zone.
"I am still in shock," Fernandes Tweeted following the conclusion of the game, which Chelsea win with a Cesc Fabregas goal in the second half to move seven points clear of Arsenal at the top of the league.
Fernandes also said he "did not care about the result", which came despite QPR having been the better team for long parts of a scrappy game.
The defeat was Rangers' first in three games under Chris Ramsey, following a 4-1 thumping of West Brom and a 3-3 draw away at Aston Villa on Monday night.
