Thierry Henry says Alexis Sanchez's lonely celebration in Crystal Palace win revealed disharmony in Arsenal's squad

The Chilean forward is expected to leave north London either in January or at the end of the season when his contract runs out

Thierry Henry says he spotted a sign during Arsenal’s victory at Crystal Palace on Thursday night that all is not well among Arsene Wenger’s squad.

Arsenal ran out 3-2 winners thanks to an inspired display by Alexis Sanchez, who scored twice as he rediscovered some of his best form. But the winger’s lonely celebrations hinted at disharmony with his team-mates.

“There is division in the team,” said Henry, talking on Sky Sports. “He is asking them to come [and celebrate with him]. Why are they not coming? Don’t they want to celebrate?”

Sanchez has cut an isolated and disillusioned figure at times this season and has been far from his best, and the Chilean forward is expected to leave north London either in January or at the end of the season when his contract runs out.

But Henry said the players should not be affected by off-field matters.

“You’re not here for Alexis Sanchez, you’re here for Arsenal. Arsenal scored so go and celebrate. Whoever does it, celebrate with your team-mate.”

Graeme Souness agreed that there appears to be a lack of unity in Wenger’s squad. “There is a divided dressing room. It shows they aren’t having Sanchez at the moment... It is clear there is a dynamic in the dressing room that all is not well.”
