When the two sides meet on Saturday, Manchester United will be hoping to tighten their grip on their top four statu against a side in Swansea that has beaten the Red Devils in two of their last three encounters.

Swansea were Manchester United’s first league opponents at the start of this season at Old Trafford. Louis van Gaal suffered his first home defeat at the hands of the Welsh team 2-1. This was the start of Van Gaal revamping his Manchester United side and bringing in the likes of Angel Di Maria, Daley Blind and Radamel Falcao in the forthcoming weeks.

Their last corresponding meeting at the Liberty Stadium came in August 2013 where on that occasion Manchester United ran away 4-1 winners with David Moyes in charge.
