From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

It’s a big game for…

Emmanuel Adebayor: Alan Pardew has talked up Adebayor as having the potential to be one of Palace’s best ever players. Now, following a cameo outing against Bournemouth on Tuesday night, the mercurial Togolose will be straining at the leash to make his first Eagles start. With 96 Premier League goals to his name, an on-song Adebayor could be just what Palace need to re-ignite their faltering campaign.

Two: None of these sides’ five Premier League meetings has yielded any more than two goals.

Remember when…

One season wonder Michu scored his final Premier League goal for Swansea City, at Selhurst Park in September 2013? It was one of just two Premer League goals he would score that season, after taking the league by storm and recording 18 a year earlier.

Player to watch…

Gylfi Sigurdsson: So often integral to everything Swansea do well, it is no coincidence that the Icelandic playmaker’s return to form has coincided with his team rediscovering their mojo.

Past three-meetings…

Crystal Palace 0 Swansea City 0, Premier League, December 2015

Crystal Palace 1 (Chamakh) Swansea City 0, Premier League May 2015

Swansea 1 (Bony) Crystal Palace 1 (Jedinak, pen), Premier League, November 2014
